Disaster Preparedness Group for Elk Mountain/Mountain View Estates in Hyrum
MISSION
The Elk Mountain/Mountain View Estates (EMME) Neighborhood Disaster Group was created to help neighbors in the area prepare for and respond to natural and man-made emergencies to minimize loss of life and property.
VISION
To accomplish our mission we will establish effective PLANS, gather RESOURCES, and provide TRAINING for disaster response. This will improve our community’s ability to work together to respond to and recover from emergencies and disasters large or small.
PLANNING
Resilience
Having a well-thought-out plan in case of a neighborhood emergency ensures that we can respond swiftly, reduce chaos, and minimize potential harm to ourselves and our loved ones. Having a plan can provide peace of mind and also empowers us to make informed decisions when it matters most. By taking the time to prepare, we increase our chances of weathering the storm and recovering more effectively in the aftermath.
RESOURCES
Peace of Mind
We don't have funding or aim to stockpile large quantities of supplies for a disaster. Instead, our primary focus is to empower each household within the neighborhood to be self-reliant and prepared for emergencies. By providing guidance, resources, and knowledge. We believe that collectively, we can contribute to the greater preparedness of our entire neighborhood by strengthening each home's resilience thus creating a safer and more secure environment for all should a disaster arise.
TRAINING
Empowerment
Basic knowledge can save lives. We will strive to organize a range of classes and informative lectures, covering essential aspects of emergency preparedness, including first aid, CPR, disaster response, and more. Our motto, "No One Is Coming," underscores the reality that, during major disasters, professional responders may be overwhelmed and miles away. By arming ourselves with vital skills, we foster self-reliance and enhance our readiness, not only for large-scale emergencies but also for everyday accidents.
